English for Planners is a practical course for students who wish to improve their ability to communicate in planning situations in English. Each lesson is based on a topic area including, but not limited to, city planning, land use, housing, transport, and the environment and draw on real-world situations from Stuttgart and abroad. In addition, students will visit the Weissenhof Estate during the course and give a short presentation on an aspect of its development.
Each lesson consists of skills-based speaking and writing activities such as giving presentations, taking part in roleplays and discussions, and writing proposals. Key vocabulary sets and functional language will be introduced and practiced helping students to achieve greater fluency in English.
The course will be marked by continual assessment of class work, a speaking test during the course, and a written test at the end of the course. |
